A lot of pay per click search engines have tools for finding the hard to find keywords which are related to your site. Yahoo Search Management and Google Adwords have advance tools that can help you. You can use a leading third party tool which is the WordTracker. WordTracker is very helpful since it will not only help you find those hard to find keywords but you can also see how many times these keywords have been searched in all major search engines.

To avoid bidding wars you must search for more specific, targeted keywords or phrases. It means that you’ll need to find lesser used keyword and phrases. Most of them are not found in the keyword suggestion tools. More skills and experiences are needed in order to find the right keywords and phrases.

Keywords are very relevant in your pay per click advertising because it can either make or break your campaign. Finding the right keywords is probably the first and most important decision to make in setting up your campaign. If you can’t find the right keywords then all the other strategies and optimization will be of no use, since you can never target your potential buyers. Then you’ll end up discouraging yourself that pay per click advertising doesn’t work and will not work for you and your business. For example, if your business is about internet web site hosting service, the most popular keyword would be “web hosting”. Of course this keyword fits into your business and it’s the keyword that most searchers would type. But think of the cost that you’re going to pay if you bid this popular keyword.
