The important factor in managing your pay per click advertising is your Return on Investment (ROI). You need to have a system that can track your sales compared to the number of clicks you’re paying in order to achieve your goal. The other key component for a successful ad is choosing the right keywords and phrases to place your bid and writing the ad copy.

Almost all of these pay per click advertising systems have tools which can help you research for the right keywords. Of course it is their best interest to make their customers happy and satisfied that’s why they will give you the tools you need. In choosing the right keywords and phrases you have to find significant ones which have the balance between the number of searchers and affordable bids. To choose a longer and more specific phrase can give you a better conversion rate at a lower price. Most searchers who will use these keywords and phrases have already a very good idea of what they want. Generic keywords and phrases can attract more searchers but these searchers have no idea of what they want, they are still doing some window shopping or doing some research.

To write a successful ad copy for your pay per click ad depends on the goal that you’re trying to achieve. For example, you could write it simply by “Buy (your keyword) Here!” or to a more information related such as “Latest (your keyword) News” or in some other ways. You can experiment with different phrases and monitor the number of clicks it can get. This can lead you to a successful pay per click management.

You can determine the effectiveness of your pay per click campaign by tracking down the number of visitors that clicks your ad and the how many of these visitors actually did your desired action. There is a way to do this; you can direct each click from each ad to a different landing page on your site and then track down the conversion from each landing page. Another way to do this is by adding a special tag at the end of your URL for each ad. Then use the site statistics to track the visitors. This option is much easier and simpler if you are familiar with tracking visitors this way.

You can use any tracking method and this will give you the same results. You can see what ad copy and keywords are mostly clicked by searchers. You can also further look at which ads bring the most conversions. However, most advertisers who diligently track their conversions find it sometimes tiring and can take up a lot of their time. Especially for those who have a large number of keywords or phrases on more than one pay per click system. Most of these people will hire the service of an outside firm to do the management of their pay per click advertising for them. Or they can choose to hire a dedicated person to handle the tracking of conversions for them. This is a choice for those who have the financial resources.
