Why To Use Long Tailed Keywords

Long tailed keywords are composed of several specific words, while short tailed keyword only contains the generic keyword. Short tailed keyword can find you what you want, but if you really want more specifics, you would usually type all the necessary requirements you need. Long tailed keywords would bring the searcher to what exactly he’s looking for.

Although long tailed keywords are not often used by searchers, but the customers who searched them are those who are really interested in buying or inquiring from your products.

There are only a few sites that use long tailed keywords, which give your site an opportunity for a higher rank in search engine results. But it would not be long before other sites will be aware of long tailed keywords, which makes competition tough.

Long tailed keywords comprises of many short tailed keywords which gives your site an opportunity to attract more searchers. Use all the description about your product or service in the long tailed keywords; you can even include your location. Include each keyword in the long tailed keyword on your site; you can put them on the page title or heading.

To use this tool, you need to enter the short tailed keyword then it will give you a list of long tailed keywords. You can also type the products or services you are selling and it will give you the keywords often used by the searchers.
Try to look at you stats and look for those keywords with less traffic and change them to bring more traffic. Another tool which can help you is the Google Adwords Keyword Tool. Just enter the keywords and it will display the suggested additional keywords for you to choose. Entering you site will give you keywords related to your site content.

Long tail keywords should have all the possible keywords you can use. Although each of this keyword may only bring few visitors, you need to add as many as you can to accumulate more visitors.

Others would refer long tailed keywords as the less popular keywords who only gets a fewer searches. But it is easier to achieve a rank because there are only fewer sites that use them. They are usually made up of two or more word phrases.

During the early days when Pay per click was not so popular, generic keywords have only a few competitions. But as time goes by more and more advertisers are using the generic keywords for their pay per click. This results to the increase of the cost per click of these generic keywords. Smart advertisers have noticed this and they changed to adding more specific keywords which are the long tailed keywords. This is beneficial to the advertisers because the cost is lower due to few competitors. They can also target the customers which are looking for their particular products or services.
